Kayak Fish SC offers guided fishing trips for all skill levels from the absolute beginner to the experienced paddler or seasoned fly fisherman. Kayak fishing trips are available for both inshore and beyond the breakers (BTB). Please give me a call to arrange a skills test if you are interested in fishing beyond the breakers. I limit BTB fishing trips to a single angler while the inshore kayak fishing trips are for 1, 2, or 3 anglers. Let me know if you have a larger party and I will arrange for additional guides as necessary. My absolute number one goal is to insure that you have a safe and enjoyable experience, so I will not violate my safety rules.

Inshore kayak fishing trips can target a variety of species depending on the time of the year. Charleston and the surrounding area offers opportunities for redfish throughout the year with the prime season from late March thru mid November. Our largest fish are normally in the spring and fall when very large breeder fish migrate though the area.

Kayak fishing for trout is available year round as well. Trout fishing during the summer months is a very enjoyable night time opportunity. The fishing really heats up after the sun sets and temperatures drop to a more comfortable level. There are a good number of lighted docks where shrimp and baitfish congregate because of the lights and the predators simply show up at the buffet.

Some of the best sheepshead spots are too small for powerboats and are ONLY accessible to kayaks. You have to remember that catching sheepshead is an acquired skill and can be become addictive. The firm white flesh makes OUTSTANDING table fare.

Paddling trips, nature tours and photography tours are available for anywhere from 1 to 6 people. Our paddling trips are normally out and back trips that start and finish at the same location. These are scheduled to work with tidal flow whenever possible. Some trips are one way only. We embark on our paddling tour and one of my associates will move our van and equipment trailer to the pick up point. We simply load up at the end of our tour and I return you either to your vehicle or residence.

One of the most popular paddling trips is the Charleston by water tour. This is a 6 hour trip where we launch on one side of the peninsula into the Cooper River, paddle down to The Battery, then head up the Ashley River to the take out point. We will stop at The Battery for a short break to get out of the kayaks, stretch your legs, and enjoy a snack. This trip is scheduled to maximize the use of tidal flow, so we depart 2 to 3 hours before low tide.

Another popular paddling trip is 4 hours on the Upper Wando River. This paddling trip is offered to coincide with either high or low tide. The launch point is Paradise Landing just a few miles north of Mount Pleasant on Hwy 17. Both directions on the upper Wando River offer an enjoyable paddle on protected waters.
